BEEKEEPING

BEEKEEPING
Apis Meliffera

Beekeeping is a branch of agriculture that consists of breeding honey bees to exploit the products of the hive: honey, wax, royal jelly, pollen, propolis, bee venom, etc.

Honey-producing species are mainly Apis mellifera and Apis cerana, as well as Meliponini, a species of stingless bee found in South and Central America. A bee colony consists of a single queen (female), many workers (females), a harem of drones (males), and brood (eggs, larvae, and pupae). A single colony occupies a single hive.
